Muddy Pub Quiz at the St John Arms
Monday, October 22nd, 2007
The Muddy Marathon got off to a great start with our first ever ‘Muddy Pub Quiz’ at the St John Arms in Melchbourne, Bedfordshire.
There was a great mix of people including locals from the surrounding villages and Muddy Matches members that had travelled from a bit further afield. Some of our fishing week competition winners even made it!
Sal, Flick and Christina.
Concentrating hard.
Emma – our quiz master for the evening.
There were questions for everyone, from farming to fishing, with a few general knowledge ones thrown in for those with less of the muddy in their Muddy-Townie ratio! There was the usual heckling about the answers and moans that it was too hard but it was all good banter and our no-nonsense quiz master took it in her stride.
The clear winners were a team of local ladies – they really knew their stuff – and the prize was some shooting practice at Sporting Targets in Riseley, Bedfordshire, and a bottle of whisky. All in all, everyone seemed to have a really good time and £180 was raised for the Oakley hunt – so a roaring success we think!
