Muddy Speed Dating

Good news if you’re country-minded and single…we are very pleased to announce a series of ‘Muddy’ Speed Dating events over the coming months:
• 12th April: ‘Countryside Love Day’, Newbury Racecourse, Berkshire (click here for more information)
• 25th April: Tattersalls Sale Ring, Newmarket, Suffolk (click here for more information)
• 25th, 26th, 27th July: CLA Game Fair, Blenheim Palace, Woodstock, Oxfordshire (more information coming soon)

What’s speed dating?
It’s a tried and tested formula and a really fun way to meet some new people.
We fill a room with single guys and girls and give you the chance to meet everyone one-to-one to see if you hit it off. You are given a scorecard and a couple of minutes to chat to each person (which is plenty of time to decide whether you would like to continue your conversation) and then we ask you to make a note of whether you would like to see any of the people again, either romantically or as a friend.
Now for the science part…
At the end of the event, we collect up your scorecards and make our way home to work out who likes who. We then get in touch to inform you of any successful matches but, don’t worry, we only put you in contact with the people you want to meet who also want to meet you again, so no awkward phone calls or having to avoid people you don’t like!
On your scorecard you will have been given the option to tick people for dating or friendship. If one person ticks somebody for dating and the other as a friend it will appear as a ‘friendship’ match. If you both tick each other as ‘friends’ it will also appear as a ‘friendship’ match. It will only appear as a ‘dating’ match if you have both ticked each other for ‘dating’.
Why ‘muddy’ speed dating?
It’s a unique opportunity to meet like-minded people who have an interest in country living and rural activities because we offer the only speed dating events aimed specifically at country-minded people. Forget awkward conversations with people you have nothing to say to; being a ‘muddy’ event, you will automatically have something in common with everyone.
Age groups
‘Muddy’ Speed Dating is for all ages; once you have registered for an event we will make sure you take part in a session with a suitable age range.
If you don’t live near Berkshire, Suffolk or Oxfordshire…
We already have a number of people coming from a bit further afield to make a day or night of it and it will definitely be worth the trip. However, we are also keen to put on similar events in other parts of the UK, so if you like what you read and can think of a similar event or venue that this could work at, or you are connected to an organisation that would like to host a similar event for its members, please get in touch with lucy@muddymatches.co.uk.
