Muddy Social Events at the CLA Game Fair

As some of our longest standing members might remember, this time last year we were planning all sorts of exciting social events for the CLA Game Fair at Harewood House in Yorkshire but sadly, due to the terrible weather over the summer, the whole event was cancelled just a few days before it was supposed to take place and, as we saw written somewhere in the aftermath, for the countryside community it was a bit like cancelling Christmas!

Fear not, however, as the good news is that we’re planning to put the same events on at this year’s Game Fair at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire……but this time it is going to be bigger and better as we’ve now got thousands more members, and it’s also the Game Fair’s 50th anniversary so it’s going to be quite a do.

What have we got going on?

On Saturday 26th July, we are teaming up with the Game Fair organisers to host A Muddy AfFair, which will be a tongue-in-cheek countryside dating show and drinks party.  Everyone is welcome (single or not) to both the show and the drinks party but there will be a fun and unique singles twist to the drinks party to make it easier for any singles to spot and approach other single people.  For more information and tickets, click here.

We will also be offering you an excellent opportunity to come and chat to other single country-minded people in a fun and informal atmosphere by hosting Straw Bale Speed Dating at the Muddy Matches stand on all three days of the Game Fair.  For more information and tickets, click here.

We are currently looking for fun-loving muddy people to take part in our Muddy AfFair dating show on Saturday 26th July.  It’s going to be a very light-hearted and tongue-in-cheek event, so if you, or any of your friends, are single and game for a laugh, why not give it a go……you only live once!

We need men and women to apply, and those chosen to take part will receive free Game Fair entry on Saturday 26th July 2008 and a ticket to the Muddy AfFair dating show and drinks party.  From the applicants, we will be choosing a male and female ‘picker’ and eight contestants.   On the day, the pickers will each select their most suitable match, and the winning couples will be whisked off for dinner on a double date in a nearby hotel. They will also be put up in the hotel that night (separate rooms of course!).

The earlier you apply, the more chance you have of being the picker, which would mean that you get your Game Fair entry and Saturday night accommodation for free, a guranteed date…and all-in-all a highly entertaining and unique experience!
