From Bulgaria to Blackpool, love beckons for Elise
Friday, July 02nd, 2021
18 years ago, fresh from university, mud lover Elise swapped the hills of Bulgaria for the UK, and a new chapter in life.
Now the 42-year-old, single mum of one has made herself at home country life dating with Muddy Matches. 70% muddy, she is eager to unearth a grounded, family-oriented man with honourable intentions to complete her journey …and should she happen to stumble across a quintessentially English “Mr Darcy” type character, well more the better!
“I always said I wouldn’t want to date someone famous as I like to keep things real” a down-to-earth Elise says. “But maybe I would make an exception for Colin Firth. Sigh! That would be perfect”.
At Muddy Matches, we can’t guarantee a connection to date a Mr Darcy type, but amongst our ½ million members, from all walks of country life, we do boast a fair share who enjoy the old-fashioned romance of country houses, or work on country estates.
There are afternoon tea fans a plenty and those that thrive on nostalgia and traditional values.
“I joined Muddy Matches as I have found it full of real people who share a similar affinity to wholesomeness and rural life as me.” Elise adds. “It seems more responsible towards its users.”
Elise is taking a sensible approach to online dating. She has a clear mind on what she is looking for and is realistic whilst patient in her pursuit to find it.
“I am looking for a serious relationship on Muddy Matches, with a family orientated, mature, stable and loving guy. I’d like a normal relationship and all the goodness that comes with it.
“My online dating experience in the UK has been mixed so far. Most guys my age aren’t interested in expanding a family or aren’t geographically flexible, but I am ever the optimist.
“I know my match is out there, somewhere, building a tree house or too busy out in the fields to look at his phone! Possibly.”
Elise’s countryside credentials have bloomed since landing on these shores in 2003. She has lived in rural parts of East Anglia and Cambridgeshire before upping sticks to be ‘closer to friends and family’ in Lancashire three years ago. A stint in Australia has made her worldly wise but sparked an appreciation for the great British countryside.
It’s rare that someone swaps Bulgaria for Blackpool and then craves the outdoor life but that’s where she is at. “I love the Lake District, the Peaks and Cuerden Valley. Lytham St Annes, where I live, is lush and green and I often nip to Beacon Fell and Kirkby Lonsdale for walks and, of course, great coffee.
Her rural bucket list includes a tree house for her 7-year-old daughter, a larger vegetable garden, a chicken coop and, most importantly, someone special to share length muddy walks with.
It’s a far cry from the hen and stag parties that hit the lights just down the road of a weekend.
And Elise insists after a stressful lockdown she has ‘a greatly improved work-life balance’ – often a treasured thing on Muddy Matches – and ‘is able to make time and space for a stable relationship and a family.’
“A future partner can expect honesty, reliability, stability, endless fun and oodles of warmth from me,” she adds.
Elise, you had us at ‘oodles’.
