Be Proactive!

Be proactive, be proactive, be proactive! It’s not just our customer care manager’s catchphrase, it’s also the most important piece of advice to follow when you’re looking to meet your perfect match. When it comes to online dating “good things come to those who wait” doesn’t apply.
So what exactly do we mean by being proactive?
You need to sign in regularly
By signing in regularly you will appear higher in people’s searches on Muddy Matches and on other dating sites than people who only sign in every month or so. The other major advantage is that you will be able to see who has viewed your profile, who has added you to their favourites and who has sent you a message.
You should carry out lots of searches
If you originally set your search to within a mile of your postcode to only find people called Alex, it’s time to expand your search. You should also take a look at all the new members to see if anyone new catches your eye.
Make sure that your profile is complete
If you signed up to a dating site and wrote something along the lines of “I’m not sure what to write, so I’ll come back to this and fill it in later” then it’s time to go back and write something that will encourage people to get in touch with you. Tell people about who you are and what you enjoy doing so that like-minded people will get in touch with you.
Add people to your favourites
Adding people to your favourites lets them know that you are interested in them and will allow you to find their profile again, rather than searching for them again.
Send messages
The single best way to let someone know that you like them is to send them a personalised message! Although we realise that a lot of people don’t wish to pay for a subscription, it is a bit like going to the cinema and not paying to see a film.
Keep at it!
Some people do find their soul mate straight away, but for most people it is necessary to contact lots of different people and to go on quite a few dates before they meet their ideal match.
