Why Online Dating Beats Meeting in a Bar
Friday, September 19th, 2014
“If anyone asks we’ll say that we met at the pub” is something that we’ve seen on a fair few profiles, but we think that internet dating beats meeting in a bar. Here’s where online dating wins out:
You can take your time – The internet doesn’t have a closing time, so you don’t need to make a brave move at 10.55 knowing that it’s your last chance.
This means that you can take your time when writing an introductory message to someone on an online dating website.
You know what you’re getting – In a bar, things are based on looks, body language and possibly conversation if the music isn’t blaring. Online you can see what interests people have and can even detect their sense of humour from their profile.
You won’t suffer ‘beer goggles’ – Drunken internet dating is not unknown, but it’s less likely than experiencing beer googles in a pub or bar. You’ll be approaching it with a sober view.
You don’t have to go to a bar – Quite simply a lot of people don’t enjoy going to pubs and clubs, so internet dating is a great way to meet new people.
