Summer Date Ideas
Sunday, August 02nd, 2015
With the sun shining, it’s the perfect time of year to head outside for an outdoor date. Here are some ideas for a first date and for when you get to know each other a bit better.
Beer garden – A pub is a good place for a first date because it’s a busy public place, making it a safe option. It’s also suitable venue as you can keep the date short, by just having one drink, or you can extend the date for staying for more. At this time of year you can enjoy the sunshine in the beer garden and some pubs will even let you take dogs into the beer garden.
Country show – Country shows are a great way to get to know each other while sharing an experience that you both enjoy. Make sure that you identify a spot in advance where you can meet, so that you don’t end up walking round in circles trying to find each other – as phone signal isn’t always easy to come by.
Picnic – If you know each other quite well, a picnic is a great way to enjoy the sunshine together in a local park. Pack a range of homemade or shop-bought food, plates, cutlery, glasses, a blanket to sit on and something nice to drink. Extra points for a stylish picnic basket.
BBQ – Again, this isn’t ideal for a first date, as it’s best to meet in a public place, but it’s perfect for when you’re comfortable with one another. A small BBQ will do for two, or even a disposable BBQ.
Watersports – Head out on the water in a kayak, a row boat,or even a pedalo to see how well you get on as a team. You can hire kayaks from a lot of country parks, rivers and watersports centres, while pedalos can hired in parks or at the seaside.
