Online Dating Toolbox
Thursday, August 27th, 2015
There are lots of tools out there to help to make online dating a bit easier and more convenient. Here are some of our favourite ‘tools’…
Dating app
A dating app will allow you to use all of the website’s basic functions on the go, which means that you can check your messages on your teabreak, or take a look for new matches. Muddy Matches has an app for Apple and Android users, but is also ‘mobile friendly’, which means that you can view the site on your mobile device even if you do not have the app.
Dating advice
There are hundreds of dating blog posts on Muddy Matches, which cover everything from how to write a profile, through to what to talk about on a first date.
Spell check
The Muddy Matches website has an inbuilt spell check function, which means that it will underline any spelling mistakes in red. When you hover over the word it will suggest alternative spellings. Just be careful with the word ‘wellies’ as it can turn into something a little rude.
If you are using a dating website that doesn’t check your spelling, it is a good idea to copy and paste your text into a Word document so that you can correct any spelling mistakes.
Photo editing programme
We wouldn’t suggest editing your photos so that they look like someone else. However, you can use photo editing programmes like Paint to lighten your photos if they are a bit too dark, or to crop them if you want to remove other people from the photo.
Your friends
Your friends may not like being called tools, in fact we can pretty much guarantee that they won’t. However, your friends can be a powerful asset when it comes to online dating. If you’re stuck for something to write, ask your friends how they would describe you to others. If you’re not sure which pictures to choose, ask your friend to pick some for you.
