Dating App Culture

You may have heard the news that dating apps are encouraging promiscuity that has lead to an increase in sexually transmitted diseases. Well, we don’t think that all dating apps should be tarred with the brush!
The Muddy Matches app (which is based on the Muddy Matches full website) allows you to view people’s profiles, photos and any details that they wish to share with you. We don’t encourage people to make a decision based purely on looks (although we can’t deny that looks do play a part). There are people who are looking for a fling, but there are many more who are looking to find a partner, or who are looking to meet friends in the countryside.
Apps do allow you to choose from a wider range of people than you would meet in your everyday life, but it doesn’t mean that it will change you behaviour. If you are keen to wait until you know someone well before developing a physical relationship, dating apps should only help you to meet the right person and should not encourage you to become promiscuous.
If you are looking for a long term relationship – say so. If you are looking for casual dating than it is also a good idea to mention it in your profile. Honesty is the best policy and helps you to avoid awkward conversations at a later date.
If you do choose to take things further physically, make sure that you take precautions, physically and mentally so that you don’t become another statistic.
