Expand Your Search

It’s important to have standards, but it’s also important not to get stuck in a rut when it comes to dating.

Having a ‘type’ can mean that you miss out on meeting people who don’t quite fit in with your expectations.

Age

If you only date people who are within a few years of your age group, try expanding your search by a few years. Some people look younger than they are, while others are more mature than their age may suggest that they are.

If you only go for people who are much younger than you are and find that you don’t get a response, or that you get a negative response, try searching for people who are closer to your age.

Height

We see a lot of profiles that say “I’m looking for someone who is at least 6 foot” or is “taller than me in heels”.

We understand that it is the convention for men to be taller than their female partner, but it’s worth considering how often you really wear high heels when you set your height criteria. If you usually wear flat shoes, is it really worth ruling out lots of eligible gentlemen just because they aren’t at least 6″ taller than you are?

Location

If you’re only looking for people who live within 10 miles of where you live, you’re unlikely to meet many new people. Try expanding your search so that you can find more people outside of your local area. You can always meet in the middle when you meet up with one another.

Even a slight adjustment to your search can make all the difference.
