Here are some common questions that we are asked about the way that we do things.

Why isn’t my profile auto-approved?

There are many thousands of online dating websites out there and thousands of them allow you to upload a profile that is automatically approved within seconds at any hour of the day, which means that you can receive messages within minutes.

So, lots of people join Muddy Matches and expect their online dating profile to be approved in the time it takes to make a cup of tea. However, we don’t work like that because we value personal safety above all else.

Our approval process means that every single profile and every single photo has to be approved by real people before it goes live on the website. This allows us to ensure that only genuine, single (if you’re looking for dating and not friendship) and country-minded people join Muddy Matches. It also means that everyone’s Main Photo will show their face and that you won’t see anything more intimate in peoples’ dating profile photos than you would do on the beach.

Why can’t I send photos in my messages?

Please see above. On a serious note, we don’t want people sending rudey nudey pics via the site and we all know that it does happen on some websites. If you do want to send pictures to one another you can exchange email addresses and we advise that you have an email address set up purely for online dating.

Why don’t you match me up with people?

The sites that match you up with people are called matchmaking sites and they look through all the people on their books and pair them up with one another based on their likes, dislikes and desires. Matchmaking sites are a lot more expensive that online dating websites as they are very labour intensive and can cost thousands of pounds.

We do not match people up with one another, but as a niche dating website we ensure that there are lots of like-minded people who appreciate a rural lifestyle.
