How to Love Yourself
Sunday, February 26th, 2017
Happy and confident people are attractive because they make other people feel happy and secure too. However, it’s not always easy to feel love yourself, when there’s a voice in your head saying that you are not attractive enough, not smart enough, or not talented enough.
Small changes can help you to feel more confident and content.
Write down what you are grateful for
At the end of each day, write down everything that you are grateful for that day. It could be something big like your health, or something smaller like being grateful to have seen a butterfly that day.
Take a look through your list every week to remind yourself of everything that is great about your life.
Set realistic goals
Setting unrealistic goals will set you up for failure which will make you feel unhappy, while realistic and achievable aims will boost your confidence.
For example, if you dream of being slim, try to lose a small and sustained amount of weight over a long period of time, rather than punishing yourself for not managing to shift half a stone in two weeks.
Get out in nature
There are countless studies to show that getting out into nature will make you feel happier than if you stay indoors. However, you don’t need a study to tell you how great it is to see a beautiful sunrise, or a clear sky that allows to see the sparkling night sky.
Do things that you are good at
If you start to doubt yourself, try doing something that you are good at to boost your confidence. For example, if you have a penchant for cake baking, invite people round to try out some of your great bakes. The compliments will perk you up and you will feel proud of what you have done.
