Tips from Our Happy Couples
Friday, September 15th, 2017
Over the past 10 years we have heard from thousands of happy couples who met on Muddy Matches — we’ve had emails, hand written letters, photos and people who have approached us at events to tell us about how they found love through online dating. We love reading through all of the success stories that we receive and they can be an excellent source of advice for people who are looking to meet their perfect match through internet dating.
Here are some of the things that we have learnt that we would like to share with you.
Give it a go
Dares can lead to stupid and dangerous activities, but for Fiona it led here to find her soulmate. Fiona was dared by a friend to give online dating a go and within a matter of months she met her husband-to-be on Muddy Matches.
We can’t promise you that online dating will be easy, but if you don’t try it, you’ll be missing out on something great.
Let people know what interests you
We’ve heard from lots of muddy couples who were attracted to their partner because of shared interests that they mentioned in their profile text.
If you want to meet a man, or a woman who shares your love of dog shows, horse riding, hunting, or fishing, make sure that you mention it on your profile so that fellow country sport enthusiasts know to get in touch with you.
This lovely success story former muddy matches member Stephanie says it best..
“We met in November one rainy day & haven’t been parted since. We found we have so much in common, too numerous to mention, quirky ways and funny habits. Finding such a match happened quicker than we both ever imagined and using Muddy Matches already differentiated that which we mutually shared, the love of outdoors, walking, running, animals and sports.”
Don’t let distance put you off
One of our recent success stories came in from a woman called Julie who lived far away from her now husband. Julie found that speaking on the phone was a good way to get to know her date before meeting up with him.
Another was sent to us by a man called Adrian who lived almost a hundred miles from his ideal match, but after four months of getting to know each other, his muddy match will be relocating from Swansea to Herefordshire to be with him. This (and many more success stories that we have heard) proves that people are willing to move to a new area when they find the right person.
However, we’ll leave the last word on this one to Nigel, who met his dream girl on the website. Nigel said, “All I would say is love has no distance if you have a car, so extend the county you are looking in it might surprise you what you will find.”
