Positivity is an attractive trait in a partner and talking about your favourite things will seem upbeat as well as revealing things about yourself.

Adding hobbies to your dating profile will give people ideas for dates and will let them know how much you have in common with them.

In most circumstances, we wouldn’t recommend filling your dating profile with an extensive list as it looks more like a shopping list than a dating profile. However, it is a great place to start as it gets you thinking about what to write without having to worry about the structure of your text.

Write down 10 of your favourite things and get ready to elaborate on them.

Show your sporty side

How do you like to keep in shape? Are you a team player, or do you prefer solo sports? Discussing your favourite sporting activities will show that you are active, which will appeal to other active people.

Add some cultural pursuits

Do you adore art, or really love reading? Tell people about the cultural activities that you enjoy and be specific, for example, do you generally like to read classic novels, or the biographies of your heroes?

Show off your creative side

You don’t have to be a painter, or a poet to have a creative side. If you’re known for your wacky cake designs, or your ability to turn scrap wood into household objects, add something about it in your dating profile and a nice photo to accompany it.

Animal magic

We’re willing to bet that Muddy Matches has a higher number of animal loving singles than most other dating websites. If walking your dog, grooming your horse, or looking after your pet parrot takes up your time, write about them in your profile and include a cute photo of you together.

Learning something new

If you have taken up a new hobby it shows that you are outgoing and willing to try new things. You don’t need to be an expert in your hobby to mention it on your profile.
