Happy first of December—now winter has officially begun we can start talking about festive date ideas that will be a perfect match for a first date.

Each of these date ideas would be suitable for a first date as you will be meeting in a busy public place. They are also great conversation starters if you are a bit nervous about making small-talk straight away.

Christmas market

Getting some of your Christmas shopping done and enjoying a first date—that’s what we call multi-tasking. Invite your date to a Christmas market and enjoy looking at the stands and getting to know each other. If the date is going well, you can extend it by going for a drink, or food afterwards.

Christmas light switch on

Get together for some oos and ahhs as you attend a Christmas lights switch on and if you are lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of a local celebrity while enjoying a mince pie and a cup of mulled wine. If you have missed the switch on date in your local area, you could meet for a drink and then walk around the town looking at the lights to extend your date night.

Panto

Pantos are not just for families with small children, they can also be great fun as an adult as lots of the jokes are written especially for grown-ups. They set a jovial tone for your date that will hopefully enable you to keep laughing together as you discuss what you have seen.

Christmas concert

Whether you choose to watch an orchestra performing, or a local choir singing, watching a Christmas concert is a fun way to spend a first date. Although you won’t be able to chat during the concert itself, you can chat to one another afterwards and discuss the performance.
