It is also paramount that our service is age appropriate. This is why Muddy Matches is an online dating platform for people aged 18 years old and over only. When it comes to online child safety, we take our duty of care very seriously, for example by:- Immediately removing all accounts where we suspect the user is under 18.
- Requesting photo ID (passport or driving license) for date-of-birth and age verification on occasion where there is any reasonable doubt.
- Manually vetting all profile content of new, and updated accounts – including all photo uploads - to identify underage profiles
- Running ad hoc spot checks for active underage behaviour
- Providing a secure ‘Report a Concern’ function on each profile display, which raises an escalation process and a higher level of profile scrutiny.
- Taking timely and appropriate action to remove any CSAM content, after obtaining knowledge of it on our platforms.
- Contacting all members who have exchanged contact details (personal and social) with suspected underage profiles, to minimise the risk of potentially harmful interactions off the platform.
- Having a dedicated Child Safety point of contact for all enquiries.
Our singles community has a big part in this as well. We expect everyone who chooses to join Muddy Matches to act in an age-appropriate, and legally responsible, manner through:
- Never knowingly uploading or distributing inappropriate or sexually explicit content that depicts minors.
- Never knowingly using our services to engage in, promote or facilitate inappropriate behaviour that could put at risk the safety of minors (aged under 18).
- Reporting any profile that raises your suspicion of being underage.
- Never interacting inappropriately with any profile that you suspect is underage.
