Winnie’s arrival marks a year of muddy love

Trish and David met whilst online dating with Muddy Matches just over a year ago. Now they have a gundog together… that’s commitment!

Trish and David’s fledgling rural romance got off to the muddiest of starts with the muddiest of messages; the type you’re only likely to receive whilst online dating with Muddy Matches.

Then it went up a notch when agricultural estate worker David offered to kindly fence around Trish’s couple of acres and take her greenlaning in his Defender 90. It was one really rural conversation you’d expect between two genuinely country singles looking to share their muddy boots lifestyle with someone similarly minded.

The pair mutually matched whilst country life dating with us in February 2021; their first message exchange taking place on the 3^rd February, before a Valentine’s Day meet up was set up.

They quickly bonded over a shared love of clays shooting, a passion for off-roading and a love of animals.

Meeting online during the lockdown and local tiers, they are now an established country couple, having survived the worst of the pandemic Their relationship has fully bloomed, and they have also welcomed a new arrival into their world in the form of chocolate Sprocker spaniel, Winnie.

“Winnie will be David’s gundog,” Trish tells us.

She is certainly a welcome addition for country pursuits fan David, who has been parted from his three dogs – a black lab and two English springer spaniels – since divorce last year. She’s another four-legged friend too for Trish, who already dotes on 2 dogs, 1 horse, 1 pony, and a 12-strong flock of chickens in her small but beautiful corner of the Gloucestershire countryside.

Just under a year on from meeting online, and the outdoor loving twosome have moved together.

“We are just sat in the garden with a glass of wine, saying ‘who’d have thought it,” says Oxfordshire-born Trish. “Thank you to everyone at Muddy Matches. We couldn’t be happier.”
